*I want God to Sweep and Mop my Heart*
(Revelation 3:20-22—–Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.)
God is knocking at the door of our hearts. The reason God refers to our hearts as a door, is the we have the lock on the inside; we can choose to open or close the door. How wonderful is God you see we can choose to open or close the door we also have the lock on the inside. When we open the door we can choose who we let in or who we lock out. The devil will only enter if we allow him to enter, we have to make that choice, God does not allow the devil to break down the door, or burn it, blow it up, dismantle it, no, its 100% our choice.
You see when we open the door to God we choose to let him enter but once He is in we choose to keep him inside. And once we open that door to God, we cannot allow the devil in. You see God will not live with the devil. God is a God of order, of love, cleanliness and white as snow. Recently my husband and I purchased a new home, it’s all wood floors and I love it, but I have to sweep and mop daily or every other day. Now that winter time is here, our boys run in with their muddy, snowy, dirty boots. So I have them take them off before they enter, I can’t have a clean and tidy floor if there is mud on it especially after I worked so hard to keep it clean. The same concept goes for our heart, once God cleans it, he can live comfortable.
The best part of moping are the products I use, Murphy’s Oil, Mistolin, Fabuloso, Pine Sol, I use these in a particular order. And each has their purpose.
1st) I use the Pine Sol regular scent to remove the dirt and grime.
2nd) I use Murphy’s oil to keep and bring back the shine and luster in the wood, to bring out the best to sparkle and shine.
3rd) I complete my third moping session with the Fabuloso or Mistolin it seals it all in, the smell is amazing and it brings a scent of beauty and cleanliness to the entire home.
Each one has a purpose, as I start each process I have to complete the one before. With the first process I use get the bucket put warm water and begin, then I throw out the water and its usually dark, has dust bunnies, etc, then I wash the bucket, add warm water, I throw away the water and it’s not as dark as the one before, the mop is not so dirty and the third process when I throw away the water its clean almost clear. This is when I know my floors are good enough to eat from (lol).
As simple as this process might seem this is how God works in our life only if we allow him to enter. Now what happens if my boys run on the clean wooded floors, and they have run through my floors? I have to begin the process over again and at this point my hands, waist and back are hurting. (This is when the boys get time out–LOL).
I have too start from the beginning, if I skip one process the floors will just nor be as clean. God stars working in our heart from the beginning for he is a God of order. The question here is who are you allowing to enter into your heart? Who have you opened the door to? We have to be on guard who we let into our home and heart. Sin is at our door, knocking and it always seems to find a way to enter once we’ve allowed it. There are certain people in our lives who’s presence is sinful, who we think are okay to enter into our homes, but we don’t see the mud, dirt and grime they are bringing into our home.
These people take us from God, and those who want to lead us to sin, there are certain people whose presence takes us from God it’s not necessarily that they are terrible people but their polluted language, their exaggerated worldliness or their desire to have us engage in sinful activity. It is our job to be on the lookout like a good porter. Even if us as porters we accept God, and keep out sin. We have to make sure there are no bad things inside, like Jesus who took a whip at the temple when they were selling and buying. We to have to take a whip and remove all the things inside our heart that do us harm. We need to have a complete purging of these elements and traces of sin. We need to have a thorough purging and reconcile with God and fast and pray and ask God for forgives, to come into our heart and live inside of us. We need to give our hearts a thorough cleaning just like we’re doing right now for the guests that will visit us during this Christmas season. We need to wake up and be vigilant God is soon to come and we need to be prepared for these end of times events that will come our way. So the next time you sweep, mop, vacuum or clean your home.
Think about the process you do to make sure your home is clean and has a great smell. God is want to clean our hearts, mind, spirits, body and soul, but only if we allow Him to do his job. The best part about God cleaning our hearts is that the smell and the feeling of cleanliness is unlike anything we can do for ourselves. The best part about God cleaning our US is that as we get closer to Him we become cleaner, and unlike our earthly homes there is no need to have to start the process every day. You see we live in a world of sin, as great as a job I’ve done on my floors, I know they will get dirty again very soon. I know that when God comes from heaven and we will live with him for eternity the cleanliness job would have been completed and guess what? We will be clean and smell great for all eternity, no more Pine Sol, Murphys Oil, Mistolin or Fabuloso for my home. Now I have God’s Holy Spirit dwelling in my home and it will clean for ever more. I hope that as of today you to will open you’re the door of your heart to God and let I’m enter and make you new, white as snow.
